Advanced Child Care
This course is for students who have passed Child Care with a grade of C or higher. The course involves working with children ages 4 and 5 in an actual preschool located in the classroom. Wednesdays and Fridays will be spent planning lessons, learning about the development of children, exploring careers in a child related field, and cleaning the child care center. The preschool is in session Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays. Each student will be assigned to one child for observations.
Major assignments include a newsletter about a topic of the student's choice, a case study, and a teaching week.
