MISSION STATEMENT
The Blue Springs Freshman Center is committed to providing for the transitional growth of all students socially, emotionally, and academically.

VISION STATEMENT
At the Blue Springs Freshman Center, indivdual achievement is developed through a strong, data-driven curriculum, elective courses, and participation in co-curricular activities.

FRESHMAN CENTER 2009 NIGHT SCHOOL
BEGINS January 12 - Feb 19
at the Fresman Center
Monday -  Tuesday - Wednesday 2:10 - 4:45
APPLICATION must be signed by a parent
and returned to the Counseling Office by
December 17, 2008

BREAKFAST at the FC!
Students can start their day our RIGHT~~
 breakfast is served at FC  in the cafeteria

FC IS AN OFFICIAL COLLECTION SITE
Please bring your Yoplait yogurt lids to the
Freshman Center & they will be sent in for
Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  We will take
any lids...not just the pink ones!  For more info on
the the Save the Lids program visit the Yoplait
website
 


A+ PROGRAM
A+ participants must perform a minimum total of
50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring.  For purposes
of the program, community service is not considered to
be an acceptable substitute for tutoring. Tutoring guidelines
for the A+ Program need to be picked up in the Counseling
Office from the A+ Coordinator,
Mr. Breske.  Before beginning
to tutor, participants must attend an A+ Tutor Training.

COLLEGE PREPARATION
ACT test preparation & information

PSAT Test is Wednesday October 15th.  
Registration for the PSAT will be Oct 6-10.
The cost is $20 and can be paid in the FC Counseling
Office.  Checks should be made to BSSHS.

Is not offered through the Blue Springs School district but
is offered through Metropolitan Comm College

Parents can download handbook and responsibility form
located at left.  Once you have submitted the online registration form,
your User ID and password will be at your oldest child's school
within seven working days. Bring your identification (picture ID) to

Work Permits
Students who are 14-15 years of age need a special Division of Labor
form to seek employement.  Downloadable forms are available below.
School Year Employment Form  (Labor day - June 1) 
Summer Employment Form (June 1 - Labor Day)
Student completes Section A, then takes to employer who will complete
Section B.  Permit should be sign by parent and then returned to
Blue Springs Freshman Center, Principal's Office.  School District will
keep a copy of the form and forward a copy to the Division of Labor &
Standards in Jefferson City.
