First Day of School is Tuesday, August 18, 2009. For a complete look at the 2009-10 school year calendar, click on the link at the top left of this page titled "09-10 School Year Calendar."

2009-10 Student Registration packets will be mailed in early July to all students who were enrolled at Blue Springs High School during Spring Semester 2009.  To register for next school year, every student must bring a current utility bill (gas, water or electric only) that has a billing date of July or August 2009 printed on the bill for proof of residency. (Tax documents, phone, cable, trash or internet service bills are not accepted.) The bill must be in the name of the student's legal guardian that is listed in our student database at the high school. Registration for Seniors starts August 3rd, Juniors start August 4th and Sophomores start August 5th.  If you have two high school students and would like to register both at the same time, you must register during the time for the younger student.  You cannot register early without an exception from the Counseling Office.

New Students enrolling in BSHS or students who are returning after having left BSHS for a period of time must call the Counseling Office at 229-3459 to schedule an appointment to get enrolled in our high school.

2008-09 Yearbooks will be ready for pick up the week of August 3rd during registration for those who ordered and paid for a yearbook.  Please bring your receipt with you for proof of purchase.  Pick up times are 8-11 am and 12:30 - 2:30 pm in the Commons.  Recent graduates can go directly to the Commons area to get their yearbook and not wait in the registration line.

Summer School is June 4-30, Monday - Friday. Remedial courses will be held at the Freshman Center (224-1325), enrichment courses will held at Delta Woods Middle School (795-5830).  Session 1 is 7:30-10:45 am, Session 2 is 11:15 am - 2:30 pm.

ATTENTION  PARENTS!  You can no longer drop off or pick up students in the back east parking lot (accessed through Willowbrook) due to construction traffic and trailers.  You can pick up or drop off your students either on the west side of the gym or in the front circle drive.  Thank you for your cooperation during this exciting construction phase at Blue Springs High School!

Student Parking Change:  Students can no longer park on the east side of the campus (accessed through Willowbrook).  All students must park in the student lot on the west side of campus (by the PAC and the ball fields) and use the pool parking lot for overflow parking.

Breakfast Available at BSHS! We serve breakfast in the cafeteria from 6:55 am - 7:20 am each morning. Cost is only $1.25!

Homework Request Policy:  Before making a request for the school office to gather homework for a student, the student must have excused absences for 3 full, consecutive days (pre-absences for school events do not count as part of those days). If a student has been at school even part of a day, they are welcome to get make up assignments from their teachers themselves prior to leaving school. The request must be made before 9:30 am for work to be available on the same day as the request.  (For example, if you want homework ready by Friday and the student has been gone all day on Wednesday and Thursday, you must call the Attendance office before 9:30 am on Friday for the work to be ready by 3 pm on Friday.) Homework requests received after 9:30 am will be dealt with the following school day.  Any other circumstances other than 3 full consecutive excused school days, parents and students are encouraged to email the teachers directly to get assignments. Teachers' email addresses are available through the staff website at the top left of this page.  If you are on Parent Connect, you can access homework from there.

Cell Phone Policy:  Students are NOT allowed to use their cell phones for any reason during class time (even if they are outside the classroom).  Students ARE allowed to use their cell phones during all passing periods and their scheduled lunch time.  Students who use their cell phones inappropriately will be sent to their principal's office for a discipline referral with the following consequences:  1st offense - Saturday Detention; 2nd offense - 2 days of ISD (in-school detention); 3rd offense - 2 days of OSS (out of school suspension).

BSHS is a closed campus for lunch. Students are not allowed to leave campus durng 5th hour lunch period, outside food from restaurants cannot be brought in to students and visitors cannot eat lunch with students. If a student must leave during 5th hour, they will only be excused with a doctor's note or if a parent is with the student to check them out and back in to school.
