Overview
The Blue Springs R-IV School District is ideally located about 20 miles east of Kansas City on Interstate 70.  Blue Springs is among the fastest growing suburban communities in the metropolitan area.  Although the majority of the students reside in the city of Blue Springs, the district also includes segments of Independence, Lee's Summit and Grain Valley.  The district is widely recognized for its commitment to quality education.

Teachers and Staff
The Blue Springs School District has a highly qualified, diverse staff of more than 2,000 employees.  District staff is almost equally divided between certified and classified staff.  Over 70 percent of our certified staff hold an advanced degree.  Veteran staff members bring years of valuable experience to the classroom and beginning teachers bring fresh ideas and new practices to enrich the total learning environment for all students. Many of our staff hold leadership positions locally, regionally, and statewide and are sought out for advice on curriculum and instruction.  New staff recruitment is an ongoing process in this rapidly growing, progressive community.  The Blue Springs community, Board of Education and staff make a great team!
