Counseling Office 816-224-1325 FAX 220-1373 The counseling staff would like to welcome you to the Freshman Center. We look forward to getting to know you this year. Students are assigned a counselor who will monitor their high school academic experience. The counselors have completed extensive training programs and hold post-graduate degrees. They are here to assist students in seeking solutions to questions and problems related to their education, career decisions, and personal/social adjustment. Parents may request an individual conference with their student's counselor at any time during their 9th grade year. We encourage parents to be actively involved in their child's education and we welcome their calls and questions.
Students are assigned to counselors by their last name. Students Counselors

STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM What is a Student Assistance Program? The Student Assistance Programs bring together school, community, family, and youth in a working partnership which offers assistance to students currently experiencing academic and/or social problems or to Special Education/Section 504 students who exhibit at-risk behaviors. The Blue Springs Student Assistance Program is modeled after similar Employee Assistance Programs. Just as employee programs seek to increase productivity and to help employees to stay on the job, the Student Assistance Program is designed to help students succeed in the school setting and to complete their education.
For further information on the Blue Springs Student Assistance Program or to reach the Freshman Center contact, Ellen Hiatt by e-mail her at: ehiatt@bssd.net or by phone at 816-224-1325, ext 402.
