Heritage of Healthy Kids Health services are supervised by seven professional registered nurses. Health aides are available to students in each building and are trained in Red Cross First-Aid/CRR/AED. Many are licensed practical nurses (LPN). The health aide is responsible for providing emergency first-aid for the injured or ill students while at school. Vision screening, hearing screening, immunization assessments, scoliosis screening, and growth and development programs are available to students throughout the district. The nurses also coordinate health fairs for various grade levels. The school district's registered nurses are available to answer questions regarding health services and as health resource persons to the Blue Springs community. If they can help you locate health services, agencies, or answer questions regarding health services for students, call them at (816) 224-1373. Free immunizations are available through the Jackson County Health Department at 404-6415 and the Missouri Department of Health at 1-573-751-6400.
