There were no happier kids in Blue Springs on Friday than those at Lucy Franklin.  It was a spectacular Field Day.  Thanks to Joe Tucker and the staff at LFE and all of the parent volunteers for a safe and fun filled day for all the kids.  It was really fun to see all of the kids in their tie dye shirts, again I thank all who helped with that this year. 

 

PTA supplies the snack that the kids got during their break time and this year we purchased 24 cases of water.  Who knew that we would get to get the day in?  We had a few left over boxes of Capri Sun that went to Kindergarten for their end of the year picnic, a few snacks that went to 2nd grade for one of their trips to Burr Oak woods, and 3 cases of water that went to 4th grade for their water day later this month.

 

Royals tickets were handed out Friday.  Please look your tickets over and email me if you want to talk about the seating.  I did the best that I could and I apologize for those in the back row.  I appreciate those that I have talked to and the way that you have not gone after the messenger.  I do have one envelope from Mrs. Garten's class that didn't have a childs name on the order form, let me know who you are and I will get them to you.  We have a limited number of top row seating left if you are interested.  Be sure to meet at 6 at the designated area if you can be there for the warning track parade. There will be several people around Gate E ready for the pre-game parade.

 

Our final PTA meeting will be on Monday at 7:00.  The exec board will meet at 6:30.  Childcare is available.  Please come to help us celebrate a fantastic PTA year.  We have many accomplishments to be proud of.

 

Tuesday night is LFE Culvers night.  Check the Entertainment book for coupons and come join your teachers and friends for a burger and ice cream.  The school gets a portion of the sales and tips.  Several teachers will be on hand throughout the evening.

 

Thanks again to Terri McCrorey and Walmart for their support of her volunteer hours with another $250.00 check and to Jayme Welch and Hallmark for a $200.00 check.  That makes $1700. in volunteer grant money for this year. 

 

The volunteer brunch is Thursday.  If you are not able to attend please RSVP so that they don't purchase too much food.  There will be several LFE people there so look for us so that we can all sit together.

We offer 2 $500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors who are alums of LFE.  One is honor of our past principal Linda Nichols and one in honor of a student who died several years ago while attending LFE.  This is something to think about for older siblings.
