Our School

William Bryant Elementary School is a cooperative partnership of families, students, educators, and community members committed to working together as a team to provide optimum educational opportunities for all children. Our efforts are focused on developing students who are self-reliant, academically successful, and interact positively with others. We are dedicated to working together to create a school climate in which...

  • high expectations and standards provide the foundation for individual successes resulting in academic excellence.
  • every student is recognized for their unique strengths and talents. Each student is provided access to programs which nurture their strengths, allowing individual potential to be maximized.
  • a sense of pride is exhibited by all community partners. All people are greeted by a warm, supportive environment.
  • there is an active awareness of and responsiveness to the emerging, ever-changing needs of our students, families, community, and global society.
  • creative and innovative instruction challenges and empowers students to develop critical problem solving and decision making skills.
  • a comprehensive technology program provides the tools necessary to move forward in an ever-changing world.
  • students develop positive character traits including moral strength, self-discipline, citizenship, and an appreciation of the diverse world in which we live.

Announcements

Dear William Bryant Families,

We are fast approaching the end of 1st quarter.  The year is in full swing and so much learning is going on here at WBE.  This month we will be starting our building wide leadership roles with our 3rd through 5th grade students.  We feel this is a great opportunity to establish ownership within our building.  Schools that have implemented leadership roles within their buildings have reported fewer discipline problems and enhanced academics.

William Bryant continues to impress me with all the great students we have walking our hallways.  Each month we will be recognizing a student in each classroom that has displayed the qualities of a “Super Great Bobcat.”  The characteristic we were looking for during the month of September was “Leadership.”  Those students were listed in our newsletter that went home on Friday, September 27th and will be recognized at our October PTA meeting along with our October students.  We will be looking for those that display the characteristic of “Respectfulness” during the month of October.

Grandparents’/Special Friends’  Day will be Friday, October 4th.  We are looking forward to sharing a portion of our school day with some of the special people in our lives.  Information regarding this event has already gone home with your child.  PTA is planning on taking pictures this year as our special friends missed this opportunity last year.  It will cost $2 for a picture and it is cash only so you might want to relay that on to those that will be visiting with us this year.  We will also be providing a shuttle from the church parking lot again this year so tell your special people not to worry about parking.

Thanks for all you do every day to make WBE the best place to be!

Jennie Alderman

P.S. Here’s a quote we could all live by written by Stephen Covey, “How you treat the one reveals how you regard the many, because everyone is ultimately a one.”
