Workshops offer online safety

The Blue Springs School District prides itself on the technological advances it offers its staff and students. Along with technology’s ever-expanding growth comes greater responsibility and greater safety threats. To help parents be aware of the various tools to ensure Internet safety, a series of online security workshops were offered recently at the district’s middle schools.

"The first session dealt with bullying in general and also the more specific issue of cyber bullying," Department of Emergency Services Director Steve Brown said. "The other workshops covered several issues related to keeping kids safe online. All of these workshops provided the most powerful tool that parents can possess: knowledge."
