Recommendation: Grade “B” or above in English I or English I Lit. & Comp.
This course, intended for students who like to read literature and to write about literature, will involve the reading of major texts in the genres of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama. Students will read a larger number of literary works, will read more challenging literature, and will write more than in English II. They will also work on grammar and vocabulary skills in preparation for the PLAN and PSAT tests. The class will include extensive research projects. World Lit. & Comp. fulfills the second unit of English required for graduation.
