Overview The Blue Springs R-IV School District is ideally located about 20 miles east of Kansas City on Interstate 70. Blue Springs is among the fastest growing suburban communities in the metropolitan area. Although the majority of the students reside in the city of Blue Springs, the district also includes segments of Independence, Lee's Summit and Grain Valley. The district is widely recognized for its commitment to quality education.
Teachers and Staff The Blue Springs School District has a highly qualified, diverse staff of more than 2,000 employees. There are 1,008 certified staff (over 70% hold a masters degree or above) and 1,013 support staff. Veteran staff members bring years of valuable experience to the classroom (approximately 68% have tenure status) and beginning teachers bring fresh ideas and new practices to enrich the total learning environment. Many of our staff hold leadership positions locally, regionally, and statewide and are sought out for advice on curriculum and instruction. New staff recruitment is an ongoing process in this rapidly growing, progressive community.
The Blue Springs School District utilizes a service for processing on-line job applications called School Recruiter. This allows one to create a profile and apply for a specific position online. Once you create a profile, it remains on the system and you are able to more easily apply for any additional position in the future. However, to be considered for a position, you MUST apply for each position desired.
