ATTENDANCE OFFICE NEW LOCATION: Our Attendance Office is now at the new Student Entrance, located on the west side of the Big Gym off of the student parking lot (where tickets are sold for football games). All students must be checked in and out of this office during school hours, 7:25 am - 2:15 pm. There is parking access for parents to drive back there and pick up or drop off their students.
Homework Request Policy: Before making a request for the school office to gather homework for a student, the student must have excused absences for 3 full, consecutive days (pre-absences for school events do not count as part of those days). If a student has been at school even part of a day, they are welcome to get make up assignments from their teachers themselves prior to leaving school. The request must be made before 9:30 am for work to be available on the same day as the request. (For example, if you want homework ready by Friday and the student has been gone all day on Wednesday and Thursday, you must call the Attendance office before 9:30 am on Friday for the work to be ready by 3 pm on Friday.) Homework requests received after 9:30 am will be dealt with the following school day. Any other circumstances other than 3 full consecutive excused school days, parents and students are encouraged to email the teachers directly to get assignments. Teachers' email addresses are available through the staff website at the top left of this page. If you are on Parent Connect, you can access homework from there.
Cell Phone Policy: Students are NOT allowed to use their cell phones for any reason during class time (even if they are outside the classroom). Students ARE allowed to use their cell phones during all passing periods and their scheduled lunch time. Students who use their cell phones inappropriately will be sent to their principal's office for a discipline referral with the following consequences: 1st offense - Saturday Detention; 2nd offense - 2 days of ISD (in-school detention); 3rd offense - 2 days of OSS (out of school suspension).
BSHS is a closed campus for lunch. Students are not allowed to leave campus durng 5th hour lunch period, outside food from restaurants cannot be brought in to students and visitors cannot eat lunch with students. If a student must leave during 5th hour, they will only be excused with a doctor's note or if a parent is with the student to check them out and back in to school.
