Sunny Vale is committed to a partnership of school, home, and community that promotes responsible citizenship and life-long learning through problem solving with mutual cooperation and respect. This mission reflects the belief that all students can learn and be successful.
The positive character traits of generosity, self-discipline, bravery, cooperation, orderliness, and thrift/economy are emphasized through the district-wide curriculum which gives students opportunities for character education activities as well as community service projects. A wide variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities promote teamwork, community service, academic achievement and personal improvement. In addition, grade level teams compete for spirit points in building-wide activities.
With the grizzly as their mascot and the school colors of purple, black and white, Sunny Vale students and staff continue to proudly build traditions of excellence as they look to the future and "Explore New Horizons" for this school year and beyond.
SVMS provides a safe and orderly environment that inspires self-discipline, respect, good attendance and responsible citizenship. Open communication with parents is an important part of keeping families informed and involved in their children's education. Because middle school can be a time of tremendous change for our children, positive experiences and support are very important. The Student Assistance Program is in place to help any student who is struggling in any facet of life. The peer-mediation program allows students a chance to resolve problems and teaches students conflict resolution.
